I. Was. WRONG!

June 12, 2013

Ahem. I don’t admit to any wrongdoing very often, so bask in this moment.

First, if you didn’t read my post about coffee, go read it. What follows becomes that much funnier.

I finally drag myself toward coffee this morning. (A “new” pot from yesterday, mind you.)

I pour in milk. It seems…thick. I am something of a connoisseur regarding stages of milk freshness due to a repeated fridge problem in the office last year, so I sniff the nearly empty gallon jug. It smells sweet. Milk isn’t supposed to smell sweet. This is problematic. I sigh. I sip the coffee. It’s… drinkable, but probably not wise.

This about sums it up.

This about sums it up.

And it’s then that I realize what made yesterday’s coffee so damn awesome – the milk was one day shy of being too rank to drink. Really. Somehow, it made the coffee awesome. It wasn’t that the coffee was old, or perhaps it wasn’t JUST that the coffee was old. Yes. I was wrong.

Stupid milk.

I’m irritated, though, because the date on the jug tells me the milk shouldn’t have gone off like it did. Life just isn’t fair.
